Scientific Research: The Department conducts research in the area of broadly understood organic synthesis and related fields e.g. bioorganic and materials chemistry. Currently implemented projects include issues related to the chemistry of heteroatom compounds, fluoroorganic derivatives, reactive intermediates, synthesis of natural compounds with biological activity, asymmetric organocatalysis and homogenic catalysis using transition metal complexes. Other important areas of research concern synthesis and analysis of the properties of modern liquid crystal materials, chemistry of stable radicals and paramagnetic functional materials.
