Dr Barbara Burnat with the Chemistry Europe Travel Grant

On 23 February 2026, during the meeting of the Presidium of the Main Board of Polish Chemical Society in Warsaw, President Prof. Robert Pietrzak presented Dr Barbara Burnat from the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Lodz with the prestigious Chemistry Europe Travel Grant.

The aim of the Chemistry Europe grant is to build global research networks and help young scientists advance their careers through international cooperation. Eligible candidates must hold a PhD degree, be a member of Chemistry Europe, have a strong scientific record and plan to conduct research in another country.

In her application, Dr Barbara Burnat presented a broad and very well-justified research plan that will be carried out in cooperation with scientists from the Technical University of Liberec (The Czech Republic).

Chemistry Europe, which was founded in 1995, brings together 16 chemical societies from 15 European countries. It publishes high-quality scientific journals in chemistry (published by Wiley-VCH), covering a wide range of disciplines.
